Hello Slawa,

If you are using .Net technologies to create MT4 what about coding/compiling with Mono that way your software would run on both Windows and Linux.

Here is a link to Novell.com article that talks about coding/compiling using Mono.

Thank you for your Time

Hi,

I wanted to ask sth. like this:

is it possible to run MetTrader under Linux?

If not yet is it planned?

....and saw this thread! It would be great if MT would run under linux also!!!

Thanks

If you are using .Net technologies to create MT4...

no DotNet! there is very big and very slow and very gluttonous platform that requires latest high-performance hardware

Hello Jagg,

To run MT under linux you might want to look into the wine project, on their website they had MT3.73 running under linux with no problems.

Good Luck

Hi,
I tried MT 3.86 and it is running fine on Linux.
Only after running the MT, the live price columns must be streched to right. that is all..

To be honest we saved many $$$ because we only run MT on the computers.

I use VectorLinux and I believe this is the best Linux distro... runs perfect!
Mine is VL 5.0 SOHO

Their website is http://www.vectorlinux.com

And the wine version is 20050211

You can download from http://www.winehq.com/ I guess.

Good luck!

Agree Caglar....

I've installed MT also yesterday with same wine version.
(...to run MT I had to copy the MFC42.DLL from an existing windows to the wine/system folder!)

I also have to strech the price columns.

Some other small "problems" here are:

- MT only wants to be in foreground (after minimize it pops up again, bug or feature *g*)
...have to switch MT to another workspace then its ok :)
- the yellow "help-alt-tags" when I hover over a button don't disappear (or not always)
- I have problems with the buy arrow and such symbols things...
Do I have to put some windows ttf font in a wine-folder!? which one and where to get this font?
- custom indicators which has eg a "$" in the name don't appear in MT...
(after rename/delete these "$" -file and in code- they appear)

So I think that's all what I can say after one day testing with Suse9.2!

Regards,
Jagg
