Hello, I just bought a used PC that I wanted to use for MetaTrader 4.

It has an Athlon 64 3500+ (rated at 2.2GHz) 756MB RAM, 80GB HDD, 265MB Geforce 6150 graphics card, and an ethernet adapter.

But, when I try to start the program, the computer freezes and I have to reboot. I bought the computer thinking that it would be able to run MetaTrader 4, but know I am not sure... is it? Could it be something else?

thanks

What you have should be plenty. Did you add any new indicators to a chart that might be consuming too much memory, thus causing freeze ups?

I've had this happen to me before.

What is memory usage in task manager for terminal.exe?

Please tell us OS.

Is this the very 1st time ever opening MT4 on this computer?

Has it not worked since beginning?

The memory usage in the task manager is running 367 MB for terminal.exe, this is the first time running MT4 on this computer, but after uninstalling the platform, and reinstalling, everything seems to be working properly now. However, it does take some time to load on occasions. Do you recommend upgrading the RAM card?...I imagine this may be a solution...The operating system is Windows XP Home Service pack 2. Thanks for your help JPS.
