Ooopppsss.. sorry - I'm a subscriber to New Scientist - didn't realise this article was a subscription article.

The gist of it is that most of the large investment banks etc are using automated trading systems these days, instead of live traders. Apparently, 70% of Deutsche Bank's forex spot trades are carried out by automated trading systems.

I don't know about you but I've spent quite a bit of time developing automated trading systems, only to be disappointed with the results. For me, this article shows that it's definitely possible to trade the markets profitably with an automated trading system - something I was beginning to doubt...
